Privacy policy

Meridian Recruitment (ABN 42 118 907 336) is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how you can access or update your information.

1. What we collect

We only collect information that is reasonably necessary to help you find remote work or to help employers fill a role. This may include:

Name, email address, phone number and location.
CV, cover letter, portfolio links and skills summary.
Work history, availability, preferred hours and salary expectations.
Device and browser information via cookies and analytics tools.
Records of emails, calls and form submissions.

2. How we use your information

We use your personal information to match candidates with remote roles, send job alerts, coordinate interviews, and comply with Australian employment and licensing obligations. Specifically:

Assess suitability for listed roles and future opportunities.
Share your profile with an employer only when you give explicit consent.
Send occasional job alerts, market updates or application follow-ups.
Improve the website, fix errors and detect misuse.
Meet record-keeping and reporting requirements under Australian law.

3. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell personal information. We may share it only in the following circumstances:

With employers: only after confirming you want to be put forward for a specific role.
With service providers: cloud hosting, email delivery, analytics and CRM tools that help us run the business. They are contractually bound to keep data secure.
When required by law: if a court, regulator or government agency requests information.

4. Storage and security

Your information is stored in encrypted cloud services with access limited to Meridian staff. We use secure connections, two-factor authentication and regular access reviews. While no system is completely immune from risk, we take reasonable steps to protect your data from loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

We keep candidate records for up to two years after your last interaction so we can contact you about suitable roles. You can ask us to delete your profile at any time.

5. Cookies and analytics

Our site uses small text files (cookies) to remember your preferences and to understand how visitors move through the board. Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work as expected.

6. Your rights and how to contact us

You can request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To make a request, email hello@meridianremotejob.com with the subject line "Privacy request". We aim to respond within 10 business days.

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, you can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
